177-2. 1971 Marshall Sanderling 18' Catboat 'Stroller'. I hate to part with this boat, unfortunately I never have time to sail her. Boat is in good working order, needs coat of bottom paint, other than that, ready to sail. I have put a lot of money into equipment and gear, most of which has hardly been used. She comes with: Refurbished Karavan trailer with brand new tires; Marine radio purchased 2 seasons ago but never used; Marine battery and ProSport charger; Sail in fair/good condition, a few small tears professionally repaired by North Sails. In-boom race/reefing system. Replaced the following 2 years ago: Starboard, port, aft, and top of mast lights, cockpit toe board, centerboard line and pendant, Harken mainsheet block. These parts were purchased from Marshall Marine or Jamestown Distributors. Lots of extras: A set of mint condition boat stands; life jackets, gear hammocks, boat hook, manual bilge pump, lifesaver, dock lines, paint. There is a soft spot in cockpit floor like virtually all Marshall Catboats of her age. Otherwise a totally solid boat. Perfectly fine to sail her now and for years to come, depending on your preference. Boat located on the hard at Gateway Marina in Brooklyn. Serious inquiries only please, as it is difficult for me to leave work to show it. I would love to see this boat go to another Cat lover who can use her more than I have. (Optional: 3-year-old excellent condition Tohatsu outboard with around 10 hours and used only 2 seasons. Will add it to package for another $500.) Boat and trailer priced to sell at $5,000.  177-13. Blackwatch 18' gaff cat. You don't have to take my word for it, but this is one heck of a sailing boat. Back in the '70s I designed and built a 50' cutter yawl See you tube "Sail the Daedalus" a 6 minute aerial video. Ok, to Blue Water Manufacturing, Amarillo, Texas. Blackwatch 18. They fabricated 80 Blackwatch 18' cutters and on the same wide full keel hull they custom built only one Blackwatch 18' gaff cat, Then closed shop because of illness. The full keel draws 24". There is no cumbersome center board and no barn door rudder is necessary. There is lots of equipment including a 6 hp Tohatsu 4 stroke, long shaft Sail Pro. The two axle trailer is not great but it tows it around so far. This 84 year old loves this boat, but must finally sell her. $15,000 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0G7auDMHoBY Capt. Fred (251) 987-1200 biophilia@gulftel.com On the Gulf Coast of Alabama.

177-16. 2001 Alerion Express 19 Catboat as new for $15,000. Hull number 32 of 36 total built by Tillotson Pearson Inc. This Gary Hoyt design is mostly a catboat hull with a loose footed main that rolls up on the free standing carbon fiber mast mounted on and in ball bearings. Boom is independent, deck-mounted, patented, Hoyt free-standing self-vanging construction. The hull was built using patented SCRIMP technology, fiberglass/carbon fiber ($45,000 new). You roll the mainsail up around the mast with all controls leading to the cockpit, allowing effortless reffing to any increment of mainsail area and allows dousing the main at the dock. You can put this boat to bed or get underway in 30 seconds. Rudder has a barn door classic-looking shape that Garry Hoyt innovated with a pivoting blade that drops out of big rudder cheeks, giving it a modern, high-aspect-ratio rudder blade which swings up when you bump bottom. This rudder combined with location of the swing keel further aft, with ballast, reduces weather helm common in catboats. Cuddy cabin is large enough for two to lay down, or four to sit protected from the weather. Complete set of four cockpit seat cushions and four cabin cushions. The sail is in good condition. A complete professional restoration was performed in 2017, including: Repair of all fiberglass cracks on topside and in cockpit Repainted hull, deck and cockpit New anti-fouling paint New sheet, outhaul, keel and rudder lines All wood freshly refinished Overall length: 19.7’ Length Waterline: 18.92’ Beam: 8.67’ Draft swing keel up: 1’ Draft swing keel down: 4.17’ down Mast height above waterline: 39’ Displacement: 1,750 lbs Ballast: 300 lbs Sail area: 272 sq. ft. Boat comes with trailer, outboard engine (Mercury ME4M 4ST) and custom made full cover. A modern interpretation of a classic look, very easy to sail, while fast and stable. A rare, head turning and comfortable daysailer for up to 6 people. It is ready to be towed anywhere and to sail in your favorite waters for$ 15,000 OBO. hermannschaller@msn.com
