Sanderling inboard cockpit
Does anyone have any experience with the inboard Marshall 18 cockpit?  Wondering how much the engine box impedes moving when tacking and general comfort for crew.  I know from experience that the tiller on the 18 is pretty long to begin with so I'm concerned about having that box as well as the house end of the centerboard and the tiller.

I have had two inboard sanderlings. The old and new cockpit.
The "new" design has a slightly smaller cover.

Now, I can't stand here and tell you it's not in the way. But it's OK, we make do with it. Everything is tradeoffs. The increased convenience and seaworthiness of the inboard design makes up for it, for my usage of the boat.

I have a new-to-me 2009 Sanderling with an inboard. So far I've found that the engine cover makes a great footrest and occasional seating area. No complaints at all.
