Cockpit Tent?

I just purchased a used Sanderling.  This nicely made canvas came with it.  Is it some sort of a cockpit tent?  If so, how do you get it around the lazy jacks?

Looks like nice construction , how long is the ridge ? Could it be a boat cover, with the mast down?
If short enough for a cockpit tent (9 ft or so), two options 1) it is designed to mount under the boom - would expect some extra tabs along the ridge for support, 2) goes over boom, as a ridge pole, and need to undo lazyjacks and peak halyard block.

in my opinion with lazy jacks that cover will not work. need a two-piece cover that uses snaps/turnbuckles along the ridge' (ie, boom) and slots in the cover for the lines to run. maybe at one time the boat didn't have lazy jacks?

Beau,
Rest the boom on a boom crutch. Free the lazy jacks and install your beautiful cockpit tent.
Happy Days,
Capt. Fred
