Tall Ships Boston 2017

We can't wait to begin the 2017 sailing season with our Marshall 22 CLARA. On the calendar is a trip from our home port Nantucket to the Boston Harbor Islands National & State Park for the Boston Tall ship event scheduled June 17-21. We hope to pick up a mooring near Peddocks Island and rendezvous with family there.

Just putting it out there as a suggestion for a fun event . Anyone interested is welcome to join us.  If you have any suggestions for us we are glad to hear from you.

We will make our way from Nantucket via the CC Canal weather permitting on/near the 14th of June.

We have an informal group - North Shore Catboat Connection, with about 50 identified cats around or within a days sail of Boston - and hope to have a group attending the tall ships.
Some of us stayed a Peddock's this summer and found it rolly, particularly at the moorings, which are fairly far out. With a catboat, you may want to look at anchoring inside the two fathom line. Also, most of the public moorings don't have pennants or pick-up bouys, so be prepared with a line. There is a group of M-22s at the Hull Yacht Club, and with a long history of catboating, I've been told visiting catboats a warmly welcomed. Hope to see you in Boston!

If there is interest, I would be willing to look into hosting guests at Old Colony Yacht Club. We have a barge/guest float that could easy manage several boats, with more that could find space on the moorings. Guests would have access to the bar and grill, showers, etc.
