Sitting on the bottom

HI Folks,

I just joined the Association, and will soon be buying a catboat.  I live in Maine, where the tide drop has my dock and anything tied to it sitting on the bottom for several hours every low tide.  How would a Herreshoff America with a centerboard, or any other catboat with a similar underwater profile, handle this?  Would she keel over to any great extent, or just sit flat on the bottom?  Although it's Maine, the bottom isn't rocky at my dock, it's just a firm, gravelly/sandy mix.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Bill. Go to the Marshall Marine website and look at the photo section. There is a sweet photo of Marshalls sitting high and dry pretty as you please!

We were attanding a wedding in Blue Hill last summer and enjoyed a Sandpiper so much I came home and bought one.

Thanks, George. Looks like she sits flat as a pancake! Likely the HA would do so as well.
