Subject: Should My new HA-18 centerboard clunk back and forth
I've a 74 HA-18 which I just had a new centerboard installed. I can hear the board moving back and forth. I can hear a clunk into the side of the center board trunk. I wasn't sure if they all do it or is this a problem.( since it's a first new centerboard I've had and the old on was very, very skinny rusting away) any help would be great. Subject: Stuck Up centerboard 74 Herreshoff America
I hope someone can help. My 1974 Herreshoff America's centerboard is stuck up in the centerboard trunk. The former owner had a problem and drilled a hole through centerboard trunk cover.(TEAK Ouch!) It had been working fine then it stopped. The board was pulled up real fast, then nothing. If anyone has any ideas, I'm sure someone else has had a problem like this. Thanks Kevin

Subject: reference material sought
New member, aiming to buy first catboat (22') wonders if any books or other sources talking about sailing/handling catboats are out there. Looking forward to experimentation but wouldn't mind reading some lore until I find and acquire my cat!

Subject: Dinghy Cruising
I've seen several articles in MAIB regarding the English hobby of "Dinghy Cruising". Has anyone ever tried this? What sort of boom tent is there that is mosquito proof (and water proof)? I'm just fool enough to give this a try next summer if I can get over the bug problems. Any other north shore (MA) idiots want to join me for a dinghy cruise...maybe from Ipswich around Cape Ann?

Subject: Hurricane preparations
How about some good ideas about this topic? Ours is a Menger '23 in a marina slip. I intend to remove all canvas, pull the board full up, and double tie her with springlines. Do you agree?
